Ms Supriya Mani, Secretary, Indian Society of Community Health Nurse Specialists (ISCHNS) invited QMed to conduct a workshop for the members of ISCHNS.
How did she get to know us? She had attended a workshop conducted by Ms Vasumathi Sriganesh at the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) in October 2012. Almost a year later she traced QMed and invited us for the workshop at Alapuzha. Why did she want a Literature Search workshop for the Nursing Community? As she mentions in her feedback –
“I found literature search is inevitable and it must expand from academic side to service side even to benefit clinical decision making”.
This was the first time that we conducted a workshop for the nursing community. We always believed that the allied health professionals need to be equipped with these skills as much as doctors.
The participant’s feedback just echoed our sentiments even louder:
- It was an informative session. I have many times searched in PubMed but as I found it boring and time consuming I intentionally tried to avoid it. This session made the e-literature review really friendly.
- I feel extremely sad because if I got this sesison one year back I would not have wasted lot many hours by not knowing how to do a literature review. I strongly suggest that this would be included as introductory session during the first year MSc itself. Feeling happy to be a part of it.
